Holy Saturday

Extra Meditation – Holy Saturday – In Silence We Await - 4/8/2023

Today we wait. Jesus has died, and his body is wrapped in linen and is inside a cold stone tomb. I sometimes wonder – what really happened to Jesus that day? We read that he descended into the pits of Hell. Was he lonely there, so far away from God? I wonder if he spoke to the devil while he was there? Did he look at all the souls who have been damned for eternity? What did those souls feel?

Today I encourage you to spend some time in silence and wait. Think about Jesus’ experience in Hell. Thank Jesus for taking on our sins and enduring such terrible suffering for us. Thank him that we still have time to mend our lives so that we can avoid Hell and instead look forward to a forever blessing with God in heaven. Wait.
